GOVERNOR's MESSAGE
May already. Where does the time go?

Well, it’s May but that signifies a new year for us here at the Moose Lodge. Officers leaving and new ones coming aboard. I would like to thank the outgoing officers for a job well done and years of service to our Moose Lodge. George Taylor put 3 years in as a trustee and did a fine job. When you see George, extend a hand of thanks for all he did. Our other officer who moved on is Walt Walworth. Walt is now our Moose Legion 58 President. Walt has spent the last 12 years on our board and we will certainly miss him. When you see Walt, thank him and congratulate him on his new endeavors. This Board was supportive and worked very hard to make your lodge a fun place to be. Next year’s Board has big shoes to fill for all these men set the P.A.C.E.!

Our new officers are Trustees Steve Maguire and Dan Sullivan, Prelate Fran Ferger (our Moose Of The Year 09/10) and Scott St. John moved from Prelate to Jr. Governor. Our officers who will remain are Trustee Tim Sullivan, Treasurer Al Newcomb, Jr. Past GovernorVinnie Principe, Jr., Administrator Wayne Cottrell and thanks for your vote of confidence as Governor for a 2nd term. Thank you to all members for a successful year!

As always, lots going on here at Naples. Please check the website on a regular basis – naplesmoose.com – for all events in May. For those of you who missed it, we had our first recipient of our very own Darlene Nielson Scholarship Award. Jeanette Potter was more than excited to receive her $500.00 award for college and her parents were very proud, as are we all. I hope to see you all next year on our Darlene Scholarship night.

I am very proud of the “Wear It or Show It” campaign. We will punch your card and give you a clip if you wish. Remember, be proud to be a Moose! Wear your card!

If you sign up 2 members before May 30, 2010, your dues are free next year. If any Naples member (excluding officers) signs 2 or more members on May 16th (membership drive), I personally will buy you a pitcher of beer. This will be a fun weekend. Our bi-annual Golf Tournament is on May 15th at Foxfire. Please register if you haven’t already. The openings are closing fast, and, as always, we need gifts and hole sponsors. Please see Dan or Tim Sullivan for more information. Attention golfers – check for our Sunday golf specials coming soon!

A quick note in closing. We will keep our full-time kitchen open through the summer for lunches and Sunday breakfast as well.

If you have any questions or ideas, please talk to me. As always, thank you to all our volunteers who made this year so successful. If you would like to help in some way, please see me.

Congratulations to Steve Smith who was the recipient of our first Volunteer of the Year award. Maybe next year, it will be your name on the plaque.

See you next month.

Fraternally yours,
Jim Kelly, Governor

SENIOR REGENT'S MESSAGE
I am honored to introduce my Board:

- Junior Regent: Margot Nicolet
- Recorder: Teresa Principe
- Secretary/Treasurer: Crystal Hollingsworth
- Chaplain: Alma Goddard

We are hoping to have a fun and fulfilling year!

Friday Fish Night – We have enhanced the menu for the summer by adding a “Cleopatra Salad” that you can have with chicken or fish on top and to include pasta & broccoli as an additional side dish. Did you know it’s not just fish? We also have fried shrimp and clams. You can even create your own combo. Okay – what is a “Cleopatra Salad”? Romaine lettuce, grapes, almonds and blue cheese with a light Italian dressing.

Letters have been mailed to let you know on what committee you will be serving. We are looking for some Co-workers who will Chair a committee. Please consider doing this. We already have your committee in place, all you have to do is run with it. Also, in the mailing, is a letter from Holly Mootispaw for a bakeless bake sale for her committee fundraiser. What a perfect fundraiser for the summer when it’s too hot to bake!

I would like to extend an invitation to all co-workers to join us on the first and third Monday of each month for a short meeting followed by refreshments and brainstorming. We need some new ideas for fundraisers. I was thinking of maybe having a “Family Game Night” on one of the Friday nights during the summer. What ideas do you have to share with us?

I want to extend my “thanks” to my best friends, Don & Luanne and my husband for helping me out in the kitchen every Friday night and my star waitresses, Beth & Minnie. Also, Holly and her husband for filling in for us when we are out of town.

Check out the pictures on our bulletin board of our activities. See you at the meetings.

Fraternally yours,
Renee Miano, Senior Regent

FROM THE WOMEN OF THE MOOSE
A NOTE OF THANKS!!

We wish to extend thanks to the many individuals who donated and purchased used books at our weekly book & bake sales held on Friday nights during the WOTM Fish fry. Without your support and participation this sale would not have been the success it was. Kudos to all!! The proceeds of this fundraiser went to the Alzheimer's Foundation. The unsold books were donated to the local Veterans Hospital. As always, your continued interest and support is greatly appreciated in all our endeavors.

Sincerely, The Women of the Moose
